Ian Leake at work with Viktória
I seek to create expressive images of the human form, and I work almost exclusively with nudes because I find the body deeply emotive, visually fascinating, and more beautiful than most other subjects.
My approach is to use the camera to explore a woman’s body with her. Together we look for the unique, the personal, and the truthful – all the time seeking to make beautiful photographs that celebrate life and femininity.
Recently I have been exploring churches and the people who worship in them. This is a new project for me but already very rewarding.
I work mainly with large format film cameras and make platinum prints on handmade handmade paper.
I live and work in England.
