Getting started with platinum printing is easy – buy a kit, slap some chemicals on a sheet of paper, find a dense negative, apply a bit of UV, develop the print, and you are done! But learning how to consistently make top quality prints is much harder. For a start there are several different processes (“recipes”) to choose from, very little truly authoritative information published, lots of pet theories, and plenty of misinformation too. Finding your path to fine printing can be confusing, time consuming and expensive.
I have designed a new workshop programme to help you to find your path to platinum printing. The introductory workshops offers you the maximum learning in the shortest time, and the advanced workshops concentrate on accelerating your platinum printing skills.
The teaching will be appropriate whatever your standard or ability. You will find the atmosphere encouraging and supportive, focussed to help you move your work onto another level. My approach is to help you understand the process through doing – I will keep to a minimum of technical instruction, concentrating instead on hands-on printing experience.
